Betty Lee Knapp

Betty L. Knapp, 79, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016, at the Kansas City Hospice House. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. with Funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage United Methodist Church located at 12850 Quivira Road in Overland Park, Kansas. The interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Church. Betty was born May 16, 1936, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond and Thelma Hess. Betty worked for Western Auto for 42 years before retiring. She was a Girl Scout leader, avid needle pointer and a great cook. Betty was a longtime member of Heritage United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Everett Knapp, daughter, Tamara (Ron) Hanes, granddaughter, Julia Hanes, brother, Raymond (Dorothy) Hess and several nieces and nephews. Betty was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and took great care of her family.
