Bill Leatherwood, 90, of KC, MO was born Sept. 26, 1926 in Stilwell, OK to Lee and Amanda Leatherwood. He went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 28, 2016 at home. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm, with funeral services at 6:00 pm, Tues., Nov. 1st at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Interment will be 2:00 pm, Wed., Nov. 2nd at Stilwell City Cemetery in Stilwell, OK.
Bill graduated from Stilwell High School in 1944. He spent most of his life working in Transportation, the last 25 years with George Butler of Butler Transport, Inc of KC. In 1947, Bill was married to Joyce Harris and they had one daughter, Nancy Beck of Overland Park, KS. She was always his “little girl.” Joyce passed away in 1989. In 1992, Bill married Norma Lea Shannon, both being members of the Edwardsville Assembly Church, Edwardsville, KS for many years.
Bill is survived by wife Norma Lea; daughter, Nancy & husband Terry Beck; three grandchildren, Erin, Hilary and Trevor Beck, all of KC; three step children, Barbara Sturgis of NC; Wayne Shannon of KC and Peggy Shannon of Orlando, FL.
