Caroll Lynn Montgomery’s time with us ended on October 13th, 2023 after a valiant battle against cancer. She was born to George Stanley Butler and Elnora Marie Hayes on August 12, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Washington High with the class of 1977.
Caroll was truly an authentic, honest and loving person. A devoted mother, sister, wife and friend. She could light up a room without imposing her presence. She was inquisitive - you would often find her nose in a book quietly in her own world enjoying a novel. She was humble. Her beauty was undeniable yet any attention drawn to it would embarrass her. She always preferred shining the light on others. She was a fighter! A fighter for her children, what she believed in, and she even wasn’t afraid to go to fistacuffs! She was a champion for justice and equality and stood firm on those principles. Caroll blessed us with her unique presence for 64 years and she can never be replaced. We will miss her dearly until the one sweet day that we join her above. Until then we will celebrate her life and continue her beautiful legacy.
She is survived by 3 children Dell, Kyle, Danielle, 2 grandchildren, Makhi and Amai, her husband Liddell, Her mother Elnora Butler, brother Kevin Butler and two sisters Kathy Brewer and Debbie Butler.
Rest in peace Caroll Lynn Montgomery. We love you forever.
