Carroll Ann Christine

Carroll Ann Christine, 89, passed away January 19, 2018. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS, with a Rosary prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 26th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS 66203. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS, following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kaw Valley Center, 21344 W. 153rd Street, Olathe, KS 66061.

Carroll was born October 31, 1928 in Leavenworth, Kansas. She graduated from St. Mary’s with a degree in Art and a minor in History. Carroll worked for over thirty years for Southwestern Bell, starting as a Service Representative, then retired as a Manager. She married the love of her life, Robert Christine in 1962. Carroll also ran two travel agencies, Nelson Travel and American Travel, and worked with four cab companies, two truck lines, and an air freight unloading operation. Other work she did included holding fundraisers and other events for Providence Hospital, running golf tournaments, and working with Marilyn Maye for fundraising events for the Kaw Valley Center. Carroll worked hard, but also enjoyed playing golf, going dancing, taking her cruiser to the Lake of the Ozarks, and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert Christine.

Carroll is survived by her son, Pat Christine and his wife Edith of Holden, MO; her granddaughter, Kara Christine and her fiancé Kevin Marlatt; and many friends.
