Catherine Alice Crews (Kenney) age 75, of Tonganoxie, Kansas passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on April 28, 1949 to Terrance and Louise Kenney. She was the youngest of four children. She graduated from Sacred Heart and got her first job as a file clerk at Farmers Insurance. She retired from Harcros Chemicals as a payroll manager. She enjoyed working in her garden and with her animals at Serenity Acres. She recently celebrated 38 years of sobriety on October 20, 2024.
Catherine “Cathy” married Maurice Alan Bedell May 17, 1969. They had two children, Thomas Allen Bedell and Noah Alan Bedell. Her husband, Alan preceded her in death in 1991. She later married Kenneth James Crews March 28, 1992. They were happily married for 32 years.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Terrance and Louise Kenney, Alan Bedell, brothers Bill Kenney and Ted Kenney, and her sister Mary Davolt. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Crews, her sons, Anthony Paul Johnson, Carrollton, TX; Thomas Allen Bedell (April), Easton, KS; and Noah Alan Bedell (Bri), Tonganoxie, KS, two daughters, Khristine Nichole Dixon, Kansas City, KS, and Amanda Marie Crews, Kansas City, KS. She had 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 from 4-8 pm at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 at noon. The service will also be live streamed by the Bonner Springs Church of Christ on their Facebook page.
