Catherine C Hill

Catherine (Cathy) Hill, 98, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Sharon Lane Nursing Home. Cathy was born on December 1, 1927, in Kansas City, KS, to Matthew and Luba Calovich.

She was a former member of Christ the King parish in Kansas City, KS. After moving to Shawnee in 1990, she was a member of St. Joseph parish and enjoyed being a member of the Keenagers senior group and singing in the funeral choir.

Cathy was a homemaker and also worked at Associated Wholesale Grocers in their print department for many years. After retiring, she volunteered for over 20 years at the Shawnee Community Center with her sister Dorothy, where they made new clothes for donated dolls so other little girls could enjoy them.

Cathy was preceded in death by her husband Charles Hill (1987); her brothers Joe, Matt, and Tony Calovich; and her sisters Helen Dragush and Dorothy O’Toole. She is survived by her daughter Donna Baska and her husband Paul Fischer; her grandchildren Kathleen Kelsey (Mark Kelsey) and Laura Coughlin (Alec Coughlin); great-grandchildren Elise and Vincent Coughlin; and Charles Worthington, her special companion for many years.

Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 5:00-7:00 pm, with a rosary at 6:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph parish on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 10:30 am.
