Charles “Chuck” Meacham, 84, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away May 30, 2018. A visitation will be from 9:00-10:00am, with funeral services at 10:00am, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112. Interment with Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Chuck was born October 9, 1933 in Center Township, Kansas to Dan and Emma Meacham. He graduated from Manual High and Vocational School and served in the Navy. He married the love of his life, Georgia Blakesley on November 2, 1958. Chuck worked as a carpenter, factory worker, and retired as a computer operator. He was a Mason for many years and was attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kansas City First Ward. Chuck was an excellent bowler, enjoyed playing pool, pinochle, solitaire and chess. He enjoyed watching the Royals, Chiefs, and KU Basketball, as well as Gunsmoke, westerns, and Blue Bloods. Chuck loved going to the movies, and always brought his wife, Georgia, a big bag of buttered popcorn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and lost his wife, Georgia, only four months ago.
Chuck is survived by his son, Steve Meacham and his wife Helen of Kansas City, Missouri; his three grandchildren, Catherine McCord and her husband Matthew of Goshen, Indiana, Charles W. Meacham, II, and Christina Meacham of Kansas City, Missouri; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. Lee Blakesley and his wife Tami of Leawood, Kansas, Ms. Janice Weaver of Magnolia, Texas, and Mr. Scott Blakesley and his wife Kim of Peculiar, Missouri; his cousins, Mr. Gail Breen and his wife Margaret of Lincoln, NE, Mrs. Rebecca Magill and her husband Zachary of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Roberta Cash and her husband Danny Jones of Kansas City, Kansas, Mr. James Hadley of Shawnee, and Mrs. Vicki Currie and her husband John “Daryl” of Shawnee; as well as many other relatives and friends.
