

Charles E. Mouzakis, 86, of KCK, passed away April 8, 2013. He was born April 8, 1927 in Kaw, Missouri to Daniel and Margaret (Wanzing) Mouzakis. Charles graduated from high school and then went into the Army, serving in Korea. He worked a variety of jobs, first for GM, then at a vending machine repair shop, he owned a bar called the “Pass Time,” and retired after working as an auto mechanic. Charles married the love of his life at the age of 55 and has cherished her every day since their marriage, though she preceded him in 2009. He was an active member of the Wyandotte Village Neighborhood Watch and enjoyed decorating his house for all the holidays; he won several times for his Christmas display, which consisted of over 50,000 lights. Charles loved riding his Harley Davidson in his younger years and enjoyed boating, he had a 30 foot houseboat that he would often take out with his friends and family. He enjoyed going to the races, trying his luck at scratcher tickets and often played board games like “Aggravation” with his family. Charles always loved spending time with his beloved dog, Buddy.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Margaret Mouzakis, his beloved wife Fleata Mouzakis on April 2, 2009, his siblings, Joe and Jimmy Mouzakis, Mary Ann Roberts and Rosemary Blasche as well as nephew Orville Roberts.
He is survived by his 4 step-children, Dyan Wisnowski, Robert Walker, Cathey Isbell and Rosemary Kruger, 9 step-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Joe, Gerald, Charles and Danny Mouzakis, Gennie Rehmer, Bill Roberts, Eddie Blasche, Shirley Pinkerton, Michael Roberts, Patty Roberts and Margaret Kueser, as well as many other family members and friends.
