On Thursday, March 28th, 2019, Dale left this world to be with his Lord and Savior, after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was 85. Dale leaves behind one son, Dale E. Hartweg; two daughters, Diane E. Hartweg and husband Kenneth, and Debra E. Head (deceased). He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Renee Prater and husband, Wade, Stephanie Long and husband Shane, Ashley Head and Lowell Head; six great-grandchildren, Tanner Prater and wife Marni, Tiffanie Prater, Sydnie and Seth Long, and Braxton and Mikey Norman.
Dale loved his family and had many friends. He was a loving and thoughtful person and a friend to all. He was very active in St. Patrick’s Green Club, serving as both President and Treasurer. Due to the love of his Green Club friends, they will be honoring him by preparing the meal after Mass. Dale had a life-long love of bowling. One of his greatest disappointments was that he never bowled a 300 game. He did have a 290 game, with a split in the first frame and then 11 strikes. Dale enjoyed his many friends on his two bowling leagues. He will be greatly missed.
Dale worked 38 years for the Schooley Company, advancing from sales clerk to Sales Manager, and retired in 1996 as Senior Vice President. That same year, he purchased a motor home and he and his wife, Mary Ann, happily traveled for many years.
The family requests donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, in lieu of flowers.
Services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112 on Saturday, April 6th. Visitation will be from 10-11am, followed by Mass at 11am and lunch immediately following at the Parish Hall.
