Dale N. Keithley, 83, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Presbyterian Manor. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 22nd at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to The Alzheimer’s Association.
Dale was born January 12, 1929 in Langdon, Missouri to Everett W. and Agnes M. (Merritt) Keithley. He grew up in Nebraska, graduating from Nemaha High School and Omaha Tech School. He lived most of his adult life in the Kansas City Area, moving to Grant, Michigan in 2004, and back to Kansas City in 2007. Dale attended Fellowship of Love Church in Kansas City, Kansas, and North Casnovia Baptist Church in Grant. He was a Carpenter for Flett Construction Company in the 1950’s and early 1960’s, before going to work for Lockwood Motors, where he retired as the Service Manager in 1994. Dale was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 1999, where he usually called the bingo numbers. He loved sports of all kinds, and was an avid bowler. Dale loved fishing, hunting, playing golf, gardening, playing cards, watching stock car races, and he had a special gift for writing poetry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Keithley when she passed away in 2011; his parents; 2 of his brothers; and his 5 sisters.
Survivors include his 3 daughters, Jackie Stearman and her husband Jerry of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, Marsha Peterson of Kansas City, Kansas, and Rhonda Hall and her husband Rick of Grant, Michigan; 2 brothers, Lester Carol Keithley of the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and Harold Lloyd Keithley of Baldwin City, Kansas; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
