

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 13, 2012 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Assoc., American Diabetes Assoc. or the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
A lifelong area resident, Dale was born July 25, 1929 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Ewell Raymond and Irene Estell (Kessinger) Nightwine. He worked at TWA for 37 years, retiring as a Supervisor in 1990. He was a member of I.A.M., Local 1650, E.A.A. and TWA Senior Club: Heart Of America Chapter. A Mason, Dale was a member of the Wyandotte Lodge #3 and a Delaware Lodge DeMolay Dad. He was a 20 Year Member of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Assoc., traveling to Hawaii several times. Dale enjoyed riding motorcycles, had his Private Pilots License and was the head of his Neighbor Hood Watch. An avid woodworker: he was a cabinet maker and made several different things for his family: baby chairs, cradles, rocking horses, toy planes…. Dale was proud of his family and was eager to let you know how his children and their families were doing. He never missed an opportunity to watch his grandchildren’s sports and activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: James Nightwine and brother-in-law: Edwin Murphy.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Louise M. Nightwine of the home; children: Brenda Tillery and husband Kenneth of Kansas City, Kansas, Deborah Theno and husband Rick of Lenexa, Kansas, Leslie Kay Boyd and husband Michael K of Kansas City, Kansas, Georgia Kuebelbeck and husband Ron of Shawnee, Kansas, Scott A. Nightwine and wife Gloria of Smithville, Missouri and Duane R. Nightwine and wife Shawna of Olathe, Kansas; Grandchildren: Kendra Parris and husband Darryl, Kacy Tillery and fiancée: Bill Sloan, Kodi Malott and husband Dale, Michael Kuebelbeck, Michelle Zinn and husband Eric, Tony Burns and wife Pam, Justin Coleman, Jared Clark, and twins: Samantha and Sydney Nightwine; Great-grandchildren: Hunter & Ryder Zinn and Jacob and Lily Burns; and his brother-in-law: Leaman Murphy. He was loved by all who knew him.
