Daniel N. Holmberg Sr.

Daniel Holmberg, 84, of Mission, KS, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at University of Kansas Medical Center. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 6th, at the Nall Avenue Baptist Church, 6701 Nall Avenue, Prairie Village, KS. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, KS. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Dan was born November 1, 1926 in St. Paul, MN to Julius H. and Ruth H. (Tunberg) Holmberg, and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Holmberg and his sister, Gerry Akerman. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mel Holmberg of the home; children, Julie Wilson (Wayne) of Kansas City, MO, Daniel Holmberg Jr. (Cynthia) of Lakewood, CO and David Holmberg (Kathy) of Topeka, KS; sister, Shirley Holman of Seattle WA; brother, David Holmberg (Rose); sister, Judi Burkhart (Butch) and sister-in-law, Cathy Holmberg, all of St. Paul MN. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Daniel III, Megan, Karina, Amanda and Maggie.
