In his youth, David enjoyed the outdoors. Whether it was hunting, fishing or even chopping firewood he'd happily spend his time doing so and enjoying the beautiful scenery of places like Wyandotte County Lake.
As an avid stamp collector up to his death, you could find him sorting stamps and writing letters to his stamp collecting friends across the world. He'd often talk of the rare stamps he'd collected and where his latest additions were from.
David was a collector of many things but people more than anything. He always had a friend who could help should someone need it and he had a joke or story for every occasion. A teacher in both profession and life, he had knowledge to share in abundance.
David would always say he was blessed and those who knew him would agree that his presence was a blessing.
