David was born October 18, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas to Henry Jackson and Belvia Irene (Pippin) Gardner. Those who knew David knew that he was a stand up guy. He was reliable and he would step up to the plate. If he gave his word, you could count on it. He was strong-willed and independent, but he was a loyal friend, loved his family, and his God. He was proud of his kids. David loved the outdoors, especially when he could fish or hunt. He loved to sit outside and just listen to nature. David loved to listen to the Blues and talk about and work on old cars and motorcycles. He appreciated the simpler things in life. David loved to reminisce and think about the future. He was looking forward to meeting his grandson and taking him fishing, talking on a cell phone and finding a geek to teach him to use a computer. David was most looking forward to getting another motorcycle and taking long trips, especially along the Pacific Coast Highway. He is now, and forever will be, taking the eternal ride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Belvia and four siblings, Mary Lou Teters, Norma Kimlin, Dale Gardner and Jackie Dale Gardner.
David is survived by his sons, Loucious Gardner and Nick Miller, step-son Billy Spradlin; brothers Robert Gardner and wife Ginger, Jerry Gardner and wife Patsy; special friend, Linda Burge; one grandson, Clay Gardner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and family.
