Donald “Don” Lawrence Huls, 77, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on November 15th 2019 at Saint Luke’s Hospital. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 pm with a funeral service starting at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 22, 2019 at Village West Family Church, 2205 N. 102nd St., Kansas City, Kansas 66109. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Donald was born on July 16th 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas to Jacob Otis and Kathryn Lorraine (Fidler) Huls. In 1962, Donald served his country by joining the United States Army. Upon being honorable discharged from the Army, Donald started work as a lithographer at Allied Litho. He then married the love of his life, Rosalyn Rader, on September 4th 1982. To this union, two sons were born, Donnie and James.
Donald was a faithful member of the Stony Point Baptist Church. He taught Sunday school, ushered on Sundays, and helped out in any way he could around the church. One of Donald’s biggest loves was Harley motorcycles and enjoying long motorcycle rides on the open road. He would also attend car shows and enjoyed the classic cars. In his free time, Donald enjoyed studying his Bible, praying for others, reading motorcycle magazines and taking naps. Above all, Donald was a family man and loved his family and friends. He was a great man and was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Rosalyn Huls; children, Donnie (Rebecca) Huls and James Huls; sisters, Judy, Debbie, and Kathy; nieces and nephews; along with other family and friends.
