Donald Gene Malmberg

Donald Gene Malmberg, age 79, beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather passed away at home June 8th, 2026 in Kansas City, KS. Cremation services are in care of Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home in Kansas City, KS with burial at Hickory Point Cemetery in Iberia, MO. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donnie was born at home in Iberia, Missouri on Sept. 11th 1946. He was preceded in death by his mother Fern Anna Stroyick, father Clarence (Everett) Malmberg; siblings Lucille Robinett, Myrtle (Louise) Bowlin, Anna May Pollard, Otis Malmberg, Betty Gass, Dorothy Eileen Malmberg; former wife Imogene (Jean) Malmberg of 35yrs; stepson Thomas Malmberg. He is survived by wife Cynthia Malmberg together 27yrs; stepchildren Jimmy Strickland wife Shannon, Angela Strickland, Pamela Walters husband John, and Clarence (Rusty) Malmberg along with many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.

Donnie was a Vietnam Vet that served in the Navy under the (Seabees) Construction Battalion. After his time in the service Donnie worked at TG&Y warehouse until its closing. He then worked for CertainTeed where he retired after 30+ years in 2009. Donnie spent his retirement traveling, spending time with family and enjoying being outside working in his yard. He loved being with his wife and going to the casino together, they were married in Las Vegas May 4th, 2009. Donnie will truly be missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
