Doris Calovich

Doris Mae Calovich, age 88, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Mrs. Calovich was born on May 14, 1927 and grew up in Slater, Missouri. After her graduation from high school, she moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where she met the love of her life, her husband, Mathew Calovich, Sr. The two of them raised four children in their house on Yecker and, later, on their family farm in Wolcott. Mrs. Calovich, a lifelong, devout Catholic, took enormous comfort in her strong faith, praying the rosary daily and attending church throughout her life. Mrs. Calovich is preceded in death by her husband, Mathew Calovich, Sr. She leaves behind her four children, Mathew Calovich, Jr., Jeannette Lula, Carolyn Adams, and Chris Calovich, as well as 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In honor of her faith, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, friends and family commit to doing an anonymous act of kindness or prayer for someone in need.

A visitation will be 1:30-2:30pm, Saturday, September 19th with funeral services to follow at 2:30pm, all at Chapel Hill – Butler, 701 N 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
