Doris Ann Painter, 74, Kansas City, Kansas passed away September 10, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow at 12:30 PM at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Monday, September 17, 2018 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Doris was born on July 7, 1944 in Olathe, Kansas to Helen and Grover Boehm. She attended grade school at Lone Elm, a one room school house in Olathe and then graduated from Olathe High School. Doris also graduated college from Mount St. Scholastica. She was a teacher at Ward High School in the 1970’s. Doris also worked at Providence St. Margaret Hospital in Kansas City for 15 years. Doris married Richard Painter on January 30, 1970 and together they had two children. She enjoyed traveling to different parts of the country with Richard, including an annual trip to Disneyland, which was one of her favorite places.
Doris is survived by her husband, Richard; two children, Heather Painter and Craig Painter; grandchildren, Alex, Rebecka and Allison; brothers, Darrell and Eddie; and sister, Francine.
