Dorothy J. Beckham

Dorothy Jane Beckham, age 90, of Edwardsville, Kansas, passed away April 1, 2012 at her residence. Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 4 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Dorothy was born November 28, 1921 in Fontana, Kansas, the daughter of August and Nellie (Bible) Feldman. Dorothy was a graduate of LaCygne High School and one of her proudest family moments was her daughter Linda’s graduation from KU. She was a member of Stony Point Christian Church. Dorothy worked for Montgomery Ward during WWII and then later retired from Central Bag Co. She was proud to have been able to work all of her life. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband: Floyd D. Beckham. Survivors include her children; Sandra Stawinski and husband Sigmund of Basehor, Kansas, Robert Beckham and wife Deborah of Kansas City, Kansas & Linda Von Fange and husband Carl of Lenexa, Kansas; siblings Louis Feldman of LaCygne, Kansas, Hattie Fitzwater of Lexington, Missouri & Hazel Lowe of Bonner Springs, Kansas; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
