Elsie was born on February 2, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles W. and Margret Whitehead. She was a fabulous painter and sold many pieces she created. She was also very involved in her church, Gravois Mills Methodist Church. Elsie sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women’s group. She also participated in many church charity events, including making, painting and selling dolls to the community. Elsie was also involved in the local VFW. With her artist talent, Elsie enjoyed making holiday and birthday cards for her friends and family.
Elsie had a great sense of humor, even if she was not always aware of it, and could always make you laugh. Those that knew Elsie also knew that her life motto was “Happiness is a choice.” She was a kind woman that was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Fox.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Linda Miller and husband John, and Sharon Fox; 3 grandchildren, Jim, Lori, and Maia; 7 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; along with many dear friends.
