Eric Scott Jones

From a young age, Eric’s larger-than-life personality shone brightly. He was an avid dirt bike and motorcycle rider, always chasing adventure and freedom on two wheels. Eric loved spending time at the lake on his boat, surrounded by friends and family — where laughter, music, and good memories filled the air.

Eric married the love of his life, Samantha Jones, and together they built a beautiful family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father to Colton Allen Jones, and a loving stepfather to Gemma Carlyle, who held a special place in his heart.

Eric was loving, kind, and endlessly generous. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Eric never met a stranger — he had an incredible gift for striking up conversations and connecting with people wherever he went. A hardworking and dedicated craftsman, he specialized in all types of construction and home repair. Eric had many hobbies and interests, and through them he made friends everywhere he went.

Eric is survived by his parents, Marc and Toni Jones of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; his sister, Nikki Arthur, and her husband, Drew Arthur, of Bellingham, Washington; and his brother, Ryan Jones, and his wife, Katie Jones, of Hilo, Hawaii. He is also survived by his loving wife, Samantha Jones; his son, Colton Allen Jones; and his daughter, Gemma Carlyle, all of Kansas City, Kansas.

Eric was a proud uncle to Lexi (Chris) Driggs and Kaley Arthur (children of Nikki and Drew), Sterling Jones and Kaimalino Maluhia Jones (children of Ryan and Katie), and Madison Roberts. He is also survived by his aunt, Tami Burger and her husband, Chip Burger; his cousin, Tina Burger; and many other beloved family members and friends who will cherish his memory forever.

Eric’s energy, laughter, and love filled every room he entered. He had a heart as big as his smile and a gift for making everyone feel like family. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made will last a lifetime. His memory will live on through the countless stories, smiles, and hearts he leaves behind.
