Esther was born on February 14, 1928 to George and Josephine Fasso. On January 25, 1947, she married the love of her life, Donald J. Conaty, Sr. at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. The two first met on a blind date and were inseparable for the next 70 years until Donald’s passing.
She was a lifelong “Dotte.” She enjoyed a career in clothing retail at Kay’s Fashions, but her true passion was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Esther was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Women’s Altar Society. She had a very deep faith in God and always had her rosary close by. Esther loved to cook her famous lasagna and would welcome all into her home to enjoy her delicious meals. It was a family holiday tradition that she and her husband would make their famous Italian sausage and cookies. In her spare time, Esther enjoyed her garden and going to the casino.
Even in her later years, Esther would always wake up early ready to start her day. She was always very active and loved to keep busy. She would walk her five miles each morning. She was a little feisty, spunky, and an honest women. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. She loved and cared for her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren.
She was always kind, gracious, and warm to others and was the first to lend a helping hand. She always made you feel like somebody.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Josephine Fasso; husband, Donald J. Conaty, Sr.; son, Dennis Michael Conaty; and grandson, Anthony Michael Conaty.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Donald J. Conaty, Jr. of Blue Springs, Missouri; daughter, Sharon K. McMillan (Tom) of Kansas City, Kansas; siblings, Millie Gross, Phillip Fasso, and Antoinette (Paul) Gifford; as well as six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; along with many dear friends.
