

Etta Jean Tucker, 68, of KCK, passed away July 27, 2013 at home, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 3rd at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Etta was born on March 10, 1945 in Martins-Ferry, Ohio to John “Jack” and Ethel Howell. She grew up in Ohio and moved to Kansas City, where she met her husband Joseph Tucker. Etta worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Nursing Division at Metropolitan Community College. Her main hobby was sewing; she was always working away in her sewing room. Etta also enjoyed bird watching; she loved to read all she could about the birds she saw. She also had a fondness for felines. But above all, Etta was devoted to her family and her career; nothing would keep her from her work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John “Jack” and Ethel Howell, and her brother, John Howell.
Etta is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Tucker; her sister, Dorris McNeal and her husband John; her daughter, Denise Tucker; her sons, Matthew and Patrick Tucker; her grandson, Jasper Tucker, as well as many other family and friends.
