Eula Mae Franklin, 90, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Eula was born on April 30, 1932 in Opelousas, Louisiana to Oscar and Sevilia Dean. She was preceded in death by her husband Adolph David Franklin, Sr., and her mother, father and 14 siblings. Eula was the youngest daughter of 16 children.
Left to mourn her passing is her youngest and only living brother Albert Dean and family, her 9 children; Christine Lasley (John), Debra Franklin, Pam Franklin Word, Susan Franklin, David Franklin, Kim Franklin, Michael Franklin, Ann Franklin (Teresa), Karen Franklin Williamson and her bonus daughter Jan Love, 7 grandchildren; Del Brown (Aaron), Chanda Woods (Darryl), James Craig Davis, Jason Word, Aris Word-Jones (Jason), Alyssa Franklin and Turner Williamson; her 11 great grandchildren; Morgan and Aaron Brown Jr., Carter and Ayden Woods, Desirae Davis, Aaron Word, Jayla Word, Isaiah Brindamour, Raegan and Chase Chapman, Aric Jones and one Great Great grandchild Milani Mae Word.
Also mourning her passing is Francis Tyrus, her dear best friend and travel buddy, her dear friend Orevia Thompson-Tatum, affectionately known as Moochie, her dear friend Juliette Garlington, her dear friend Carmen Williams and her dear friend Mary Smith who she has been reunited with in heaven.
Even though Luella Anderson was Eula’s niece, she was considered her most precious and closest friend because they grew up together and they remained close throughout her entire life.
Eula came from a very large family so there are also many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also mourning her passing.
A visitation for Eula will be held Friday, January 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM and a reception.
