Everett L. Johnson, Jr., 78, passed away September 29, 2018 at Shawnee Gardens. A Celebration of His Life will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, October 2nd at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Inurnment will be 11:00am, Friday, January 18, 2019 in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Everett was born January 18, 1940 in Richland, Kansas to Everett and Juanita Johnson. He served our Country in the United States Army and Army National Guard for 38 years and was known to everyone as “Sarge.” Everett also worked for over 28 years in a steel manufacturing warehouse as a driver and laborer. He was a former member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Everett enjoyed watching the Chiefs and Royals, fishing, cooking, watching Westerns and listening to country music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Johnson, Sr. and Juanita Johnson; his siblings, Charlie Johnson, Carol Jean Johnson, and Billy Dean Johnson.
Everett is survived by his children, Tena Marie Saucedo (David), Everett Lee Johnson (Tonja), and James Leonard Johnson (Teresa Garcia); his siblings, Betty Hamilton (Jewell), Bonnie Lou Moore (George L.), Judy Stump, Margaret Sue O’Dell (Terry), Esther Westerman, Berl Lee Johnson, and Wanda Johnson; as well as eight grandchildren with one on the way, and eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
