Frankie was born October 26, 1935 in Truman, Arkansas to Frank Joseph and Gladys Lucille Neugebauer. She attended the Burrow School, a one-room schoolhouse in Arkansas, and attended annual reunions until recently. Frankie was joined in marriage to the love of her life, Wiley Franklin Baker on June 30, 1950 in Harrisburg, Arkansas. They moved to Kansas City shortly thereafter. She worked for over 37 years for Hobart Manufacturing, assembling refrigerators. Frankie was a devout woman and was very active in her church, Glad Tidings Assembly of God. She volunteered as a leader of their girls’ group, the Missionettes, as well as teaching Sunday school. Frankie mentored hundreds of girls throughout her life in these programs. She was a spiritual leader and an inspiration to all who knew her. Frankie enjoyed gardening and maintaining her yard, but her dearest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Wiley Baker; two infant siblings and her brother, Carl Wayne Neugebauer.
Frankie is survived by her children, Bobby Baker (Debi) of Bonner Springs, KS, Ricky Baker (Debbie) of KCK, Deborah Friend of Edwardsville, KS, and Kerry Baker (Denise) of Olathe, KS; siblings, Patsy Reynolds (Don) of Tonganoxie, KS, Sam Neugebauer of Lebo, KS, Larry Neugebauer of Harrisburg, AR, Rudy Neugebauer (Kathy) of Shawnee, KS, and Terry Neugebauer (Linda Sport) of Shawnee, KS; as well as ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
