

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 2, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
George was born August 14, 1925 in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Donald and Julia Scott. He moved to Kansas City in 1955 from Oklahoma. He worked for and retired from the Finch Bayless Equipment Co. George was a 60 year member of Operating Engineers Local 101, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Masonic Lodge. George enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and maintaining his vehicles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Raymond and Jack Scott.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years: Arlene “Gus” Scott; sons: Rocky V. of Garnett, Kansas, Larry and wife Liz of Caldwell, Texas and Chris and wife Linda of Las Vegas, Nevada; step-son: Mike Hulke and wife Pat of Appleton Wisconson; step-daughters: Bobbie Simon and husband Ed of Seymour, Wisconson, Catherine Vest of Greenbrier, Arkansas and Karen Taylor of Kansas City, Kansas; 26 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. George was well loved and he will be greatly missed.
