Out of high school met the love of her life Harold and a shortly after they were married. Harold and Geraldine were happily married 72 years and together they built an amazing life and legacy.
Geraldine worked for Bell Access for a while and a short time later went to work for Kansas Gas where she retired. Geraldine was a member of Ruby Avenue Baptist church. During her earlier years of life, she developed a love for turkeys and started an antique turkey collection. She had over 300 turkeys in her collection and after that count she just stopped counting! A simple woman with exquisite taste is how her family would describe her. Geraldine was an avid cook, baker, gardener, reader, quilter, and most of all a teacher to all who were in her presence. Geraldine loved flowers, birds, wood, cats, and material. She had many titles, but her favorite was GMA. You will be missed Grandma.
In memory of Geraldine, we are asking everyone to wear pink honor her legacy and life. Grandma, you were an incredible inspiration to so many, and you will be tremendously missed and loved. In Mattthew 22:37-39 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Thank you for loving us, so much! Your love truly transformed this world and gave us all a heavy mantle to carry. But every day will carry it for you because you carried it for us! Love you always!
