
Memorial Services will be held, 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 28, at the Woodland Ridge Presbyterian Church, 9898 W. 95th St., Overland Park, Kansas. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service.
Gus was born September 29, 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Gus H. and Flossie Hanners. A lifelong area resident, he was a Navy Veteran, serving from 1945 – 1947 and was a member of the American Legion. He loved to bowl and worked for grocery stores in the metro area.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years: Sarah. Survivors include his sons: Dennis Hanners and his wife Barbara and Tim Hanners; same as daughters: Sandy Jacobs, Cathy Riden and Vickie Grube; grandchildren: Janel Florez and husband Danny, Sarah Crowley and husband Bob, Daniel Hanners and Kale Hanners; 6 great-grandchildren: Bobby, Josiah and Caraline Crowley and Davian, Elijah and Zachary Florez; siblings: Kenneth, Raymond and David Hanners, and Juanita Smith, Martha Lambeth and Donna Noble. Gus is also survived by his loving companion of the last 10 years: Helen Routh.
