Harley was born January 6, 1968 in Kansas City, KS to Harley William Harvey, Sr. and Sharon Kay Harvey. He grew up in Kansas City, KS and attended Wyandotte High School. Following high school, Harley joined the family business, Harvey Brothers Trucking of KCK, working for his father as well as alongside some of his brothers and sisters. He later started another business, Green Meadows Land Development, using property he had purchased for a successful landfill operation.
Harley was preceded in death by his parents, Harley William Harvey, Sr. and Sharon Kay Harvey. He is survived, by one son, Colton Harvey as well as many brothers and sisters – Theresa Stanturf, Michelle Wiehe, Tony Gilmore, Joe Harvey, Lynn McGinnis, Tim Harvey and Dan Harvey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Although his business was a big part of his life, in his spare time he enjoyed boating at the lake, fishing lakes, streams and rivers, riding the various motorcycles he purchased through the years and racing his stock car at Lakeside Raceway (just like his dad and with the same number). His plan for retirement was to hook the race car up to his motor home and travel across the country to various race tracks where he could try his hand against other competitive racers.
Harley made friends very easily and will be sorely missed by all of these friends that have crossed his path. He has definitely left a hole in many people’s lives with his passing.
A formal Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112, on September 4, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, and Internment from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
