

Harold V. Green, 95, formerly of Basehor, Kansas, passed away November 14, 2016. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. with the viewing at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 126th and Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Harold was born March 18, 1921 in Sweet Springs, Missouri to George and Maude (Harris) Green. He was a member of First Christian Church in Bonner Springs, KS. On June 30, 1945, Harold married Doris E. Heerwald, who he often referred to as his “lovely bride”. Harold was well respected and successful in the insurance business for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Kansas Motor Carrier’s Association and in his free time, enjoyed playing the fiddle, baseball, traveling, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Harold was an inspiration to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lyle P. Green; and a son-in-law, Joe Nasternak, Sr. He leaves behind to carry on his legacy, his wife Doris; children, Lonna Denning, Randy (Karmi) Green and Lisa Nasternak (Steve) Barron; one sister, Jessie Scott; 7 grandchildren as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
