Harry "Tom" Thomas Baker

Harry (Tom) Thomas Baker, 79, Overland Park, Kansas passed away July 10, 2026. Tom was born on April 13, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas to Frank Dee and Ruth Jean (Linck) Baker. He lived in Johnson County, Kansas all of his life.

Tom spent the majority of his career as a drafter with Black & Veatch, where he worked until his retirement in 2018.

A man of deep faith, Tom loved the Lord and made it a priority to instill those values in his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Pam, and a loving father and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with those he loved.

Tom found great joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved watching cartoons with his grandchildren, and later in life, developed an appreciation for Korean dramas. In his younger years, he enjoyed gardening and had a passion for cooking. Family and friends will fondly remember his homemade fudge, famous potato salad, and his one-of-a-kind "Egg McPoopsy" sandwich, which became a beloved family favorite.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pamela Eileen Baker; and sister, Martha Graham.

Tom is survived by his daughters; Laura (Charles) Gant of Overland Park, KS, Luana Vandawalker of Overland Park, KS and Lois (Paul) Scudder of Pasadena, MD; grandchildren, Hailey & Tyler Gant, Zoey, Zackary & Zavier Winegar, Zariah Vandawalker and Ryan & Kyle McKinney; great grandchildren, Ryiley, Ryker and Royal Boudreaux; brothers, Jerry & Terry Baker; and sister, Ruth Carroll.

Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, on July 17, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at the same location.

A Graveside Service will take place on July 17, 2026, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, with Charles Gant, Zavier Winegar, Zack Winegar, Dewayne Richardson, Chris Wyche, and Markus Vandawalker serving as pallbearers.
