Harry D. Hutton, Jr., 91, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016. The visitation will be from 12:30 - 1:30 PM with Funeral Services starting at 1:30 PM Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Porter Funeral Home located at 8535 Monrovia in Lenexa, Kansas; the interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens located at 701 North 94th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Patriot Guard Riders. Harry was born November 22, 1924, in Harrisonville, Missouri. He served in the United States Army in the 20th Armored Division. On April 29, 1945, the 20th Armored Division was one of three US Army divisions to take part in the liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp. He was roadie/groupie for his wife Jean Hutton, who was a lead singer for a gospel bluegrass group called The Joy Bells. Harry worked at Owens Corning for many years as the Business Manager. He was the Past President of the Local IPW1 and also worked closely with the Labor Relations Board. He was very involved in his local church working with Carpenters for Christ and as a Deacon. He is preceded in death by his wife Jean Hutton in 2015 and son, Daniel Hutton in 1991. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Wagner and her husband Jim; Carin Shirley and her husband Steve; brothers Bill Hutton and Ed Hutton as well as sister Beverly McShane, six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
