Helen E. Adamson, 86, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 17 at Providence Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20th at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Feed the Children Foundation or Kansas City Public Television.

Helen was born May 20, 1926 in Frankfort, Kansas to Ralph Curtis and Elsie (Bill) Osborne. She grew up in Bern, Kansas and moved to Kansas City as a teenager. Helen graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1943. She was a former member of the Stevens Memorial United Methodist Church. Helen enjoyed bowling in her church league, reading, cooking and collecting recipes. She worked as a clerk for Kansas City Life Insurance Company for 11 years, before retiring in 1990.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James Edward Adamson, who passed in 1969.

She is survived by her four children, Lawrence D. Adamson, Karen E. Adamson, Janice L. Adamson, all of Kansas City, Kansas, Susan E. Adamson and her partner Kathi Krouch of Kansas City, Missouri; half-brother, George Osborne of Lawrence, Kansas; and stepmother Norma Osborne of Lawrence, Kansas.

I am so sorry to learn of Helen's passing. We were friends at Stephens Church and also in Parents Without Partners and have many fond memories of her. I had also encouraged her to take Driving lessons after your Dad passed away. May God give you comfort.
