Born on November 15, 1941, in Davin, West Virginia, Sally was the daughter of Clefa Hall Trimble and Millard Trimble. She grew up surrounded by a close-knit family that included her siblings Bill Trimble, Duke Trimble, and Carolyn Brown. Their memories remained dear to her throughout her life.
In the 1960s, Sally became a devoted member of Stony Point Baptist Church, where she found spiritual strength and community for over six decades. Her faith guided her through the death of her husband and the years following.
Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Charles O'Brien. Together, they built a life rooted in love and family. She took immense pride in being a wife and mother and found her greatest joy in nurturing her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters: Kelly Long and her husband Steve; and Shannon Callahan and her husband Mike. Sally’s legacy continues through her grandchildren—Ellie Grindstaff (Robert), Stevi Long, Luke Long, Logan Shearer (Caroline), and Baleigh Shearer (fiancé Kyle Jones), her brother Marshall Brown, and her great-granddaughter Ivy Grindstaff.
A talented seamstress with an eye for detail, Sally enjoyed sewing and crafting throughout her life. Her creations were often gifts of love that brought joy to family and friends. She also had a passion for travel, embracing new places with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Above all else, Sally was a superb grandmother who ensured when her grandchildren were younger, they never wanted for anything.
May the memory of her in past years bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
To those I Love.
When I am gone, just release me, let me go - so I can move into my afterglow. You mustn't tie me down with your tears; let's be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have show, but now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve for me awhile, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted with trust. It's only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. And then, when you must come this way aloe, I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home. "
