

Helen L. Roudybush, age 97 of Bonner Springs and previously of Kansas City, Kansas went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2014 while surrounded by her family at her home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 29th at the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at 701 North 94th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. The family will receive friends at a visitation one hour prior to the service also at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Bonner Springs VFW Post #6401 or the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church both in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Helen was born on July 8, 1916 in Warrensburg, Missouri the first of two daughters born to George and Alice (Roberts) Collins. She was a 1934 graduate from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Helen married A.D. Roudybush on September 10, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri, and they made their home in Kansas City, Kansas where they raised their children. She helped her husband in his business, Roudybush Heating and Air Conditioning. Helen was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husband A.D. Roudybush, her parents, her sister Jean Collins, two daughters Alcie Aline Nelson and Frances Dee Waitley. Survivors include her three children Archie Roudybush, Helen Theno and husband Martin, Ellen Kalousek and husband Reed all of Bonner Springs, 12 grandchildren; Lee, Jennifer, Guy, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, Michael, Josh, Evan, Michael, Julie and Kim; nine great-grandchildren Arah, Katie, Sydney, Quinn, Ty, Jackson, Cole, Ainsley, Colton and one on the way.
