

Ila Parker Tallmadge, 94, passed away February 11, 2013 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born November 28, 1918 in Ludington, Michigan to Earl and Inger Parker. Ila married Donald Tallmadge on September 10, 1949 and lived in Sandusky, Michigan until 1964, when the couple moved to Zephyrhills, Florida. In 2006, they moved to Aberdeen Village in Olathe, Kansas to be near their son and family. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Mrs. Tallmadge taught in Hickory Corners, Mount Clemens and Sandusky schools. She was a longtime member of the Sandusky United Methodist Church, serving on several committees as well as being church historian for several years.
Ila is survived by her son Richard (Fern) of Lenexa, Kansas; three grandsons, Anthony (Carla) of Madison, Wisconsin, David (Mandy) of Shawnee, Kansas and Kyle of Lenexa, Kansas; great-grandson, Max of Madison, Wisconsin; two brothers, Robert (Jeannette) Parker of Midland, Michigan and Allan (Hilda) Parker of Ludington, Michigan; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, infant daughter, Joanne Marie, brothers Gordon and Dean and sisters-in-law Margaret and Marjorie.
Memorial services will be held at the Aberdeen Village and Sandusky First Methodist Church at a later date. Memorials may be made to the church’s memorial fund or the Good Samaritan Fund at Aberdeen.
