Irene L. Robbins

Irene Lucille Cox Robbins, 96, of Lenexa, KS passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 14th at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCKS from 10:00-11:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow services at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contribution to Nall Avenue Baptist Church, 6701 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, KS 66208.

Irene was born April 16, 1917 in Boling, KS near Jarbalo (between Tonganoxie and Leavenworth). She was a member of Nall Avenue Baptist Church. Irene loved her family as well as her church family. She enjoyed living at Garden Villas of Lenexa her last years and appreciated the kind and special staff.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Frank in 2007; her son, James in 2010; two sisters, Opal Garvin and Oma Mathis; two brothers, Edward Cox and Dale Cox; and parents, Arthur Cox and Bessie England Cox.

Irene is survived by one son, Ron (Gail) of Tonganoxie; one sister, Esther Robbins of Kansas City, KS; seven grandchildren, Kim Zule, Kasey Robbins, Dana Bacak, Ray Robbins, Mark Robbins, Renee Robbins, and Amber Robbins; 17 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
