Iris Pauline Lichtenberger (known simply as Pauline by most friends and family), 92 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on June 15th, 2022. In her final few days, she was frequently visited by many caring friends and genuinely concerned staff of her current assisted living residence. She had a son by her side when she peacefully passed. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am with services immediately following at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 21st 2022 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St. Kansas City, KS 66112. Pauline was born November 12th 1929 in Oberlin, KS to Robert Lee and Eula (Nett) Cox. She married a loyal, gentle, kind and loving man in Ralph W. Lichtenberger Jr. of Kansas City on June 26th 1948. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2019. She was a focused leader of the family homemaker that would occasionally take time to enjoy some time fishing at Wyandotte County lake or camping at one of the many favorite campground locations, most specifically Melvern Lake. She always made sure that her sons made it to any scheduled sporting activities practice or game on time and was always in attendance and a supportive fan in the stands rooting for their success. She worked at AT&T for 10 years before her and Ralph migrated to warmer climates in the winter months for nearly 16 years of their retirement staying very active in social activities including shuffleboard which she appeared to love the most. Her snowbird retirement years appeared to be some of the most relaxing and enjoyable times of her life.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Eula Cox, husband Ralph Lichtenberger Jr. sister Beulah Darlene Moppin and daughter Debra Ann Lichtenberger.
She is survived by sons Steve Lichtenberger and his wife Julia of Sun Lakes, AZ, Mark Lichtenberger and his wife Maria of Los Angeles CA and Dan Lichtenberger and his wife Kim of Mexico MO as well as six grandchildren Beth, Kyle, Matthew, John, Paul, Steven and Dana along with two nephews, cousins and other family.
