Born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, Jack remained a lifelong resident of the community he proudly called home. Throughout his life, he demonstrated the value of dedication, perseverance, and providing for the people he loved. He began his working career as a mechanic before discovering his passion for truck driving. He went on to work as a truck driver for more than 37 years, earning respect through his commitment, strong work ethic, and years of service.
Jack married his beloved wife, Deborah Williamson, on October 17, 1974. Their marriage was built on decades of shared experiences, family memories, and a life together. This year would have marked their 52nd wedding anniversary. Together, they raised two children, Elizabeth Lawrence and Jack Williamson, both of whom were an important part of Jack’s life and legacy. His love for his family will continue to live on through Elizabeth and Jack, as well as Jack’s beloved wife, Ashlee Williamson, and the generations of family who will carry his memory forward.
Affectionately known as “Papa,” Jack took great pride in his family and especially treasured his role as a Papa. He was a loving grandfather to Derrick, Jaclyn, Madison, Ethan, and Jack Jr. and is welcoming Johnathan Santoscoy and Abby Peck into the family this year and next. His grandchildren brought him tremendous happiness, and the time spent with them created memories that will continue to be treasured for generations. His love for his family was evident in the pride he took in watching them grow and build lives of their own.
Jack also leaves behind his sister, Jeanie Farris, of Parkville, Missouri, and his beloved nieces, Courtney Sellars and Katie Farris, Jeanie's daughters. The bond they shared and the memories they made together will remain treasured parts of Jack's family legacy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jean Williamson and Thomas “Jack” Williamson. Their memory remains an important part of his family's story, and Jack now joins them in rest.
Beyond his dedication to work and family, Jack had a deep love for racing. One of his proudest accomplishments was winning first place in stock car racing at Lakeside Speedway. This achievement reflected his competitive spirit and his enthusiasm for the sport. Racing was more than a hobby to Jack; it was something that brought him excitement, pride, and happiness. Those who knew him will remember the joy he found in the sport and the stories that accompanied his experiences on the track.
Jack also had a special appreciation for the Christmas season. While many people waited until after Thanksgiving to decorate, Jack eagerly welcomed the holiday spirit by putting up his Christmas tree every year on November 1. This beloved tradition reflected his joy for the season and the happiness he found in familiar family customs. It was one of the many little things that made Jack unique, and it is a tradition his loved ones may continue in his honor for years to come.
Jack will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud papa, caring brother & uncle, hardworking truck driver, racing enthusiast, and a man who valued family above all else. His life was shaped by the relationships he built, the work he performed, the passions he pursued, and the traditions that brought happiness to those around him.
Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the impact of his life will continue through his children, grandchildren, sister, extended family, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. The lessons he taught through his hard work, the laughter shared over family memories, the excitement of his racing accomplishments, and the warmth of his holiday traditions will remain part of his enduring legacy.
Jack's memory will remain woven into the family's celebrations, milestones, and everyday moments. His life reminds those he leaves behind that love does not end with a final goodbye; it continues through the memories we preserve, the traditions we carry forward, and the generations who follow.
