

James E. Dawber, 75, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2022 at his home with his family near. He was born November 18, 1946 to James H. Dawber and Nettie "Ruth" (Banford) Dawber. He was married to Karen Lehner on July 25, 1987.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sister. Survivors include his wife, children Aaron Dawber (Lauren Hulen) of Raytown Missouri and Brian Dawber of Lawrence Kansas, nephew Mark (Julie) Dawber of Edwardsville Kansas, nephew Keith (Becky) Trevolt of Andover Kansas, and niece Kathy Trevolt of Andover Kansas.
James attended Wyandotte High School. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart. He attended the University of Oregon in Eugene and later the University of Kansas in Lawrence. He last worked at KU until he retired in 2004. James was baptized in the Bible Chapel in Kansas City, Kansas.
James wanted no memorial service. His burial will be at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas. He will be missed by many.
