

James Park, 77, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away April 29, 2015. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3rd at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 4th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Scipio, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriner Burn Hospital or the Crippled Children Hospital.
James was born May 9, 1937 in Kansas City, Kansas and was raised in Lawrence by his grandfather, Osborn McCleery and his mother Pluma (McCleery) Park. He served in the Navy and the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department for 32 years, retiring in 1994. James was also 32nd Degree Mason in the Delaware Lodge #96; an Abdallah Tin Lizzie member, and an Ararat Clown Unit Member. James married the love of his life, Eula Bures, on January 10, 1964. His sense of humor and his loving nature will be greatly missed.
James was preceded in death by his grandfather, Osborn McCleery, his mother, Pluma (McCleery) Park, and his cousins, John and Jean Conway.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eula Park; his sons, David Park (Cynthia), Daniel Park (Brenda), and James Park (Shelly); his daughter, Debbie Park; his grandchildren, Katie Olson, Krista, Jeremy, and Kevin Park; three great-grandchildren; his brother, David Park; and his sister, Delores Thomas; as well as many other relatives and friends.
