James "Jimmy" Arnold Pedersen

James “Jimmy” Arnold Pedersen of Kansas City, KS passed away on March 11, 2020. He was 70 years old. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. A memorial service with full military honors will be at Leavenworth National, time and date pending.

Jimmy was born Nov 17, 1949 at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas to parents Richard and Lorene Pedersen. He graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1969. Jim joined US Army in 1970 and received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, an Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. On July 2, 1973, Jim married the love of his life, Marsha in Mesa, Arizona and moved back to Kansas City to study HVAC service.

Jim enjoyed motorcycles and hot rods but later focused on family and grandchildren. He was known to help others and remained close to long-term friends. Jim was loved dearly by so many and will be deeply missed.

Jim is survived by his wife Marsha Pedersen, son Jason and wife Jessica, son Aaron and wife Mary, granddaughters Alexa, Ashley, Aaralyn and Alyssa, grandson Jonathan, sister Beverly Loggins and late husband Ed, sister Marilyn Jones and her husband John, sister Betty Pedersen Bailes, loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
