Jason D. Pittman, 53, of Bonner Springs, passed away September 25, 2018 at home. A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00pm, Sunday, September 30, 2018, with the funeral service at 3:00pm at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Interment will be 1:00pm, Monday, October 1, 2018 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association.
Jason was born September 2, 1965 in Chillicothe, MO. He graduated from Chillicothe High School and attended Mizzou before graduating from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. Jason worked for the State of Kansas Youth Center in Atchison, then SRS (now DCF) in KCK for 9 years. He joined the KCK Police Department in 2003 and retired on September 1st. Jason has been with his beloved wife, Casi Pittman, since 2006. He was a member of the National Fraternal Order of Police and the NRA. Jason enjoyed traveling, especially to go hiking or to the beach. He was very interested in fitness, especially weightlifting, and spent a lot of time at the range. Jason was an avid Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, nieces, nephews and other family.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Pittman; his mother, Shirley Shannon; and his sister, Angela Shannon.
Jason is survived by his wife, Casi Pittman of the home; his sister, J’Nae Myers of the Chillicothe area; as well as nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
