Joe Willie Howell was born June 11, 1944 in Tallahassee, Oklahoma and proceeded in death his parents, Joe Reuben Howell, Zenna Mae Howell, and Vivian Howell, three sisters, Ometta Howell, Leona Hall and Phyllis Howell, two brothers, Elliot Howell & Albert Brice.
Joe moved to Kansas City, KS where he later met and married his best friend Vergie Lee Young. Joe and Vergie would have celebrated 36 years of marriage in January. He was a faithful member of Bible Temple Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Bobby L. Young until his health began to fail.
He attended Jr College, Barber School, Joe joined the Army and served two years in the Vietnam War and then retired from General Motors after 30 years. Joe enjoyed all sports especially bowling and basketball. His other passion was restoring and painting old vehicles, writing, singing songs and playing the piano. One thing for sure Joe loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His faith in God was unwavering and he trusted in him each day. Joe loved and appreciated his family; he touched many lives because of his outgoing personality, he will be deeply missed.

Howell, His son Henry Howell, His Granddaughter Cece; two sisters Othella Morgan of Kansas City, Mo, Etta (Donald) Thomas of Kansas City, Mo; five brothers Donnie Smith of Portland, OR, Reuben (Pauletta) Howell of Kansas City, Ks, Wayman (LaFawn) Howell of St. Louis, Mo, Michael (Sadarion) Howell of Texas, and Kit (Angie) Howell of Kansas City, Ks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
