

John B. Wilson passed away on February 9, 2022, at the age of 89. He was born on October 31, 1932, in Kansas City, Kansas to John and Pearl Wilson. Jack, as he was known to family and friends, attended KCK schools and graduated from Wyandotte High School. He was in the Navy. He attended KCK Junior College and Stevens Trade School. He was an automotive machinist. After working various places, he owned his own automotive machine shop. He worked for Payless Lumber and Walmart after retiring from the machine shop.
Jack was baptized at Quindaro Christian Church. He enjoyed learning Greek, reading the Bible, serving as a deacon, and singing for his Lord, especially with his daughter. Jack liked building model airplanes and watching them crash. He liked a good debate.
Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon; daughter Sarah (Erick) Bohndorf; son, John A. (Katy) Wilson; grandson, Max Karl Bohndorf; nephew, Michael Weaver of Auburn, VA; niece, Anna (Derek) Wilson, Knoxville, TN; and great-nephews, D.J. and Jacob Wilson, Knoxville, TN.
A visitation for John will be held Monday, February 14, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112, followed by a memorial service at 6:30 PM.
