Joseph “Joe P.” Porras, 66, of Kansas City, KS. Passed away on September 4th, 2012, peacefully with his family by his side at KU Medical Center. Service will be at 6:00pm, Friday Sept. 7th, 2012 at Chapel Hill Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St. Kansas City, KS with visitation from 4 to 6pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Joe was born on April 6, 1946 at KU Medical Center. He graduated from Argentine High School in 1964. Joe started working as a machinist at Colgate Palmolive where he later retired after 33 years of service. Joe loved fishing, hunting and anything that involved being outside and surrounded by nature.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary (Nell) Porras. Sons: Joe Porras Jr. and Nick Porras. Daughter-in-law, Suzanne Porras. Grandchildren: Megan Porras and Adrian Porras. Siblings, Eva Candeleria and Solomon Porras, and countless nieces and nephews.
