Joyce was born September 25, 1933, in McLouth, Ks to Arthur James and Nellie Alta (Hendrickson) Scott. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, McLouth Ks. She worked for many years in the insurance industry as a booker keeper and administrative assistant prior to her retirement in 1993.
Joyce married Herbert Leon Dearing September 29, 1951, in Bentonville, Arkansas. He survives of the
home. Other survivors include a daughter Diana Shade, a grandson Jeff (Kathrine) Shade, a
granddaughter Lori (Shane) Wampler, all of McLouth, 5 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great
grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Norma Boyer & Freda Tiemann,
brothers: Eugene Scott & John Scott, 2 half-sisters; Lila Lanphear & Irene Sherry.
Joyce enjoyed traveling and visited many foreign countries and Islands.
A visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112, followed by a funeral services from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Joyce will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112; Garden of Everlasting Life; Section: 70, Lot: C, Grave: #4.
Serving as pallbearers are Steve Poe, Jeff Shade, Kevin Kuzmic, Bill Maxon and Chuck Maxon.
