Juanita Joyce McHenry, “Rock”, 72, of Kansas City, KS passed away Monday, February 14, 2011, at Providence Medical Center. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, at Chapel Hill–Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City KS. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Juanita was born February 9, 1939 in Ft. Dodge, IA, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Mozena) Peed. The family moved to the KC area in 1953. Juanita married Reginald "Mac" McHenry, May 12, 1979 in Lathrop, Missouri. She was a member of the White Church Christian Church in Kansas City KS. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Teri Grubaugh; and grandchildren, Jonathan Grubaugh and Libby Tavis. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Reginald “Mac” McHenry of the home; son, Ian McHenry of the home; step-children, Karen Tavis and husband Jerry of Spring Hill, KS, Randy McHenry and wife Monica of Shawnee, KS and Jeff McHenry of Gardner, KS; sisters, Joan Balm of Ft. Dodge, IA, Pat Sedlock and husband Phil of Kansas Ciy, KS and Penny Lindstrom and husband Craig of Ft. Dodge, IA; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the White Church Christian Church, 2200 North 85th Street, Kansas City, KS, 66109.
