Karla Rhea Moomau

Karla Rhea Moomau, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 surrounded by family at her home in Olathe, Kansas. She was born on June 29, 1936 to Willie Ray and Helen Crawford in Sanger, Texas. She was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Central High School before she attended Oklahoma State University. Karla and Joe Moomau were married on January 29, 1956. They spent their early years raising a family and enjoyed living in different places throughout the Midwest, finally landing in Olathe, Kansas.

Karla will be remembered for her kind, gentle nature. She was a friend to whomever she met always putting others first and was a loving wife and mother. Throughout the years, she attended countless activities with her daughters. She loved decorating her home for the season, KU Basketball, a good romance novel, being outdoors, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband of 64 years, Joe Moomau and daughters Julie Nolen (husband Boyd), Marilyn Moomau, Linda Moomau and (husband Eric). Karla had seven grandchildren: Samantha Passantino, Stephanie Passantino, Sophia Passantino, Isabella Passantino, Sara Pritchett, Ian Pritchett and Cheyanne Pritchett.
